Check the declaration
Look for gluten-free information, ingredients and cross-contact details on the current pack. Oats can be exposed to gluten during production or handling, so the grain name alone is insufficient.
Distinguish products
Plain oats, flavoured mixtures and oat biscuits are different products. Record the exact name, flavour and size. Do not transfer a conclusion between products simply because they share a brand.
Ask a specific question
Send a label photograph to the supplier when information is unclear. Natural, healthy and free from white flour do not answer the same question as a gluten declaration.
Follow the care plan
Discuss introducing suitable oats with the care professional when gluten avoidance is medically required. This article does not set an individual amount or authorise trying any oats.
Keep the label
Retain ingredient, expiry and storage details after opening. Use tools consistent with the household’s cross-contact precautions.
Save the checklist before ordering.
